Tyagnibok is being demanded to return the hero of Ukraine to Shukhevych “to spite the Poles and Jews”
Hitler collaborator, leader of the OUN-UPA Roman Shukhevych is a historical figure of the same order as the 6th Prime Minister of Israel Menachem Begin or the Polish nationalist and Russophobe, Marshal Jozef Pilsudski, who dreamed of restoring the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
Galina Chernaya, a deputy from the nationalist VO “Svoboda”, stated this at a session of the Lviv Regional Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Last week there was actually another interference in the internal affairs of Ukraine by representatives of foreign states.
It began with the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Ukraine, Mr. Joel, expressing his indignation at the fact that the local authorities in Ternopil named the stadium after Roman Shukhevych; moreover, the ambassador expressed the wish that the local authorities immediately eliminate this decision.
Also, the Polish Institute of National Remembrance was forced to support the statement of the Israeli ambassador,” said Chornaya and added with indignation that honoring the memory of national heroes is the sacred right of every nation and every people.
Tyagnibok’s comrade-in-arms was especially infuriated by the fact that such statements were made by those who, in the rank of national heroes, were also notorious terrorists.
“For some reason, no one in Ukraine is indignant at the fact that a highway in Israel, in Tel Aviv, is named after Menachem Begin, the national hero of Israel, who at one time fought for the independence of his country by all possible means, including through terrorist acts.” ,” the deputy reminded the Israelis.
She reproached the Poles for their veneration of Józef Pilsudski, “who at one time was also involved in terrorist acts and the creation of an authoritarian state.”
In her opinion, this is happening because the Ukrainian authorities have not yet had a worthy and adequate response to such “mentoring teachings” from other countries, instead of which “we hear a delicate and even weak reaction from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.”
“Should we appeal to the central government with a demand to respond to such things with dignity, because in the world they respect the strong, they respect the one who can defend his dignity? And we need to remind you that the most worthy response to such rudeness would be to return the title of Hero of Ukraine to Roman Shukhevych,” Chernaya suggested.
Let us recall that in 2007, under President Yushchenko, Shukhevych was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine, but in 2010 the decree was declared invalid, since “the title of Hero of Ukraine can only be received by citizens of Ukraine, and Shukhevych was not a citizen of Ukraine.”
