Filaret says that no one forbade the boss from fighting for the post of head of the Poroshenko-Bartholomew “church”
There is no and cannot be any ban on the participation of the head of the non-canonical “Kyiv Patriarchate” Filaret in the election of the head of the new Ukrainian Orthodox Church created by Poroshenko, Phanar and the US State Department from Constantinople or from any party.
The press secretary of the “Kyiv Patriarchate” Evstratiy Zorya said this in response to a statement by the representative of the canonical UOC, Metropolitan Anthony, calling the statement of the UOC “another Moscow information hoax,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The clear goal is to complicate the situation, sow controversy, and interfere with the process, which is now approaching a successful conclusion,” Zorya noted.
He added that the process of preparation for the unifying “council” of schismatics continues.
“To be a candidate or not, that is, to agree to accept the nomination or refuse, is the personal canonical and statutory right of Patriarch Philaret. There is and cannot be any ban on nomination by any party. There is an exchange of views as part of a normal process aimed at achieving a common goal - a better future for the Church in Ukraine,” the archbishop noted.
He emphasized that the election process and nominations take place only at the council.
“So all the conversations before the Council take place in the context of discussing possibilities. As the Primate of the Kyiv Patriarchate, His Holiness Philaret has always accepted and takes into account various recommendations, opinions and points of view, analyzes them and makes decisions in accordance with the good for the Church. There is no reason to believe that this time will be different. Moscow would like to interfere with him in this matter, to induce him to make erroneous decisions - so he sows doubts and spreads rumors,” Zorya added.
