Several tens of thousands of Ukrainian nationalists, “ATO veterans” and “activists” took to the streets of Kyiv in honor of the “Day of Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine,” which coincides with the anniversary of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, which collaborated with the Nazis.
Demonstrators, among whom were many dressed up as Cossacks and Banderaites, began to gather in Shevchenko Park.
Among others, the nationalists stretched out banners: “Bandera is our hero, Pokrov is our holiday,” “Our land is our heroes,” and also brought out homemade posters calling for the release of arrested ATO militants, “Freedom of Semenchenko,” “Will of Tornado,” “No repressions against veterans."
By the time they lined up for the march, the column numbered approximately 20-30 thousand people.
