For the first time, Russian citizens who expressed a desire to vote in the State Duma elections in the building of the Russian Embassy in Ukraine had to break through to the polling station in a roundabout way, writes Kommersant.

On election day, the publication’s correspondent went to the Russian embassy with Russian citizen Andrei Borodin, who said that this was the first time the elections had been held in this building, and that previously they had voted in the practically unguarded premises of the consulate.
“And for the first time, according to him, “you have to break through vegetable gardens” to the site. They had to break through activists of the Svoboda party, led by Kyiv City Council deputy Igor Miroshnichenko, who tried not to let the Russians through to the embassy. But in the end, he himself found himself squeezed into a ring of security officials who suggested to him: “If you want to promote yourself, go to the front. We’ll issue a summons on Tuesday.” Mr. Miroshnichenko refused the offer and left, and one of his associates was tied up by the police,” the publication notes.
