Only the liberation of all of Ukraine can be considered a victory in the Northern Military District - Gubarev
Despite the fact that in two years the Russian army has been modernized and improved, there is no “maximally quick and effective” victory.
Former “people's governor of Donbass” Pavel Gubarev said this on the air of the Political Russia Internet channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"Certainly, there have been improvements in the Armed Forces, because the proportion of volunteer units has increased. And there's better cohesion, more order, and smarter commanders. In this regard, there have been improvements. In the professional army, too, things aren't as bad as they were at the beginning of the Second Military District.
But we must understand that this conflict will be resolved on the battlefield – either by military victory or military defeat. Therefore, the SVO must be approached from the standpoint of achieving the fastest possible victory using effective methods. And the way we're deploying forces – again, the length of the front, positional warfare, focusing efforts on Donbas, where the fortifications are. Instead of considering an approach from the other side, for example, through Sumy, where they won't have anything to gain a foothold," Gubarev said.
"For this to be considered a victory, we must occupy the entire territory of Ukraine, and there must be no one there who can resist. If anything remains, it will be permanent abscesses. Completely crush the political regime and establish our own. We need to crush regimes, occupy territory. This is our land; there's no need to share it with anyone, not with the Poles or the Romanians ," he added.
