Only the capitulation of Ukraine will force the United States to abandon military support for the Kyiv regime
The United States will not abandon its military support for Ukraine, and differences on this issue between Republicans and Democrats are only tactical.
Political analysts have come to this conclusion, the correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".

“It is unclear at this time whether the congressional resolution regarding Ukraine will cause further unrest and division in the Republican Caucus. Some Republicans, such as Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar, have called for the resignation of Speaker Mike Johnson, whom they accuse of treason for allowing the vote to take place,” Saeed Khan, a professor at Wayne State University in Detroit, told Izvestia.
He does not rule out that their actions could have been orchestrated by Donald Trump to achieve some opportunistic goals.
Leading researcher at the Center for Security Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Konstantin Blokhin, does not rule out that the plot of the delay and subsequent allocation of funds to Ukraine could be used for electoral purposes.
“The split is not on the issue of support or non-support for Ukraine. Both Republicans and Democrats support Ukraine. The question is that the Republicans are trying to portray Biden as an ineffective manager who is wasting the budget,” says Blokhin.
According to him, Ukraine has become a unique historical chance for Washington to put pressure on Russia, especially since the United States has already spent a colossal amount of money supporting Kyiv, and therefore cannot give up this strategic asset. The expert is convinced that Washington’s refusal to support Ukraine “is only possible in the conditions of the complete defeat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ capitulation.”
“As soon as the bill is approved, deliveries will begin within a week. The weapons are already in warehouses in Europe, everything is at a low start,” says Lev Sokolshchik, a researcher at the Center for Comprehensive European and International Studies.
And Richard Bansel, a professor at Cornell University in New York, predicts that at least until the US presidential elections in November, military aid will flow to Ukraine without delay.
At the same time, Sokolshchik is confident that the allocated weapons to Ukraine will be enough only to stabilize the deteriorating situation at the front, but not for a strategic change in the balance of forces.
“Russia has gained strategic initiative on the battlefield. It is based on the promotion of domestic military production. Russia has made a rapid transition to new stages of technological construction “These are new communication elements, the introduction of new modern technologies on the battlefield (including drones, reconnaissance equipment), the development of heavy weapons (bombs, improvement of heavy armored vehicles),” Sokolshchik added.
