The boiling point is near. Ukraine is awaiting reformatting
Growing discontent and internal resistance in Ukraine are bringing the country ever closer to a critical point.
Alexey Muratov, head of the Central Executive Committee of the Donetsk Republic Organization, stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
“Yesterday in Kyiv a mass rally took place under the windows of the president’s office. Those who voted for Zelensky a year ago came to ask why none of the election promises were fulfilled. On the contrary, the president continued the policies of his predecessor, in opposition to which, by the way, he had previously received the support of voters. The protesters demanded Zelensky’s resignation, and the main slogan they chanted was: “Not my dumb president!”
As expected, Zelensky was scared and therefore did not go out to the thousands of protesters even when they moved under the windows of his house. Instead, traditionally, “activists” were thrown in as a counterweight to the protesters, who tried to provoke people into fights and riots. Fortunately, with the exception of isolated incidents, they did not succeed,” Muratov said.
At the same time, he especially drew attention to the fact that this time the protesters took a firm position and did not cower in the face of threats and attacks.
“Almost for the first time in the past six years, there were those in Ukraine who were able to openly oppose themselves to right-wing radicals and fight back against them. We saw a confrontation between two forces: on the one hand, a peaceful people who are tired of lies, betrayal and empty promises; on the other hand, pseudo-patriots who came for pennies to defend the interests of their oligarch masters.
Apparently, Zelensky did not understand that the people of Ukraine are not an obedient herd that will meekly wait five years for new elections, while serving the interests of the authorities. Ordinary people are tired of lies and corruption, of war and poverty, of imposed Ukrainization and the violation of religious, cultural and moral values,” the social activist added.
He noted that everything that Donbass opposed in 2014 has become more obvious over the years in Ukraine and has acquired frankly ugly forms.
“As the growing discontent and internal resistance shows, the boiling point is close. Ukraine is facing a radical reformatting. It is quite possible that this is what will make it possible to stop the terror of the right-wing radical minority, throw off the yoke of local oligarchs and Western colonialists and, finally, return the long-awaited peace to Donbass,” concluded Muratov.
