The Baltic states are excluded from the NATO defense plan against the Russian Federation
The largest NATO exercise in recent decades, Steadfast Defender 2024, aimed at practicing actions to confront Russia, is not a demonstration of aggression - they show that the West is going to defend itself. And in this defense he leaves the Baltic countries on our side.
Political scientist and former advisor to DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko, Alexander Kazakov, expressed this opinion on air at Radio Komsomolskaya Pravda, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“With such a number of participants, manpower and equipment, unfortunately, failure is very likely. Why are such teachings dangerous in themselves? Because someone drunk will press the wrong button. In any case, it is close to our borders. But we must understand one thing - these exercises do not demonstrate the aggressive intentions of the North Atlantic Alliance towards us: they are afraid of us. It is out of fear that they are hysterical. And they talked before, but now they want to show what the “great eastern defensive rampart” is, defensive from us.
I would suggest keeping a close eye on this great eastern Baltic defensive rampart. Because they are behind this shaft - and on our side. NATO is not going to protect them at all. The Great Eastern Wall begins in the north on the border of Poland and the Kaliningrad region. And not at all in Estonia,” he emphasized.
According to the expert, the NATO countries are really going to strengthen the eastern border as much as possible, because they understand perfectly well that “sooner or later we will reach it.” However, to what border the RF Armed Forces should reach in Ukraine, only the General Staff knows, and this data is a military secret.
“The military has a plan, and more than one. But they are state military secrets. These plans were approved at the end of last year at the board of the Ministry of Defense in a closed part, as this usually happens. Our regular army fights according to plan, this is not a partisan association. What plans there were, all were approved for 2024. Precisely plans, he is not alone.
There is a second bottom to this issue. Our opponents, or those who are not our opponents but where there is a heated conflict, periodically name their goals. For example: the Kiev regime until recently said that their goal was to reach the 1991 borders. The United States said that they wanted to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia with the help of the Ukrainians. Israel says it is going to defeat Hamas. Everyone has a designated goal - victory. But there is one common feature - all these goals are not feasible at all,” Kazakov pointed out.
“The regular army cannot defeat the network structure in Israel - it is slipping through their fingers. Ukraine to the 1991 borders, if you remember about Crimea and the fact that we are a nuclear power, is also impossible. The United States cannot and could not inflict a strategic defeat on us on the battlefield with the help of the Ukrainians. And here there is a generally accepted idea of a just war.
So, one of the signs of a just war is the obvious opportunity to achieve victory. Because if the goal is unattainable, then the war is endless, and the victims are endless. Therefore, we are not talking about Kharkov, or Odessa, or Kyiv, or Lviv. We have specific goals, but they are not geographical,” the expert concluded.
