“The topic is pale”: State Duma deputies were afraid to go to Donetsk
The topic of Novorossiya is a sensitive issue for many Russian politicians, who chose to ignore invitations to the presentation of the "Russian Donbass" doctrine held in Donetsk.
One of the authors of the doctrine, sociologist Sergei Baranov, stated this during a discussion at the “Good Russian People” club in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

A listener present at the conference noticed that a paradoxical situation was widely discussed on social networks - the most famous media personalities who came to Donetsk for the presentation of the Russian doctrine were ethnic Armenians - Margarita Simonyan, Tigran Keosayan and Roman Babayan.
“Which representatives of the Russian authorities were in Donetsk at the presentation of the “Russian Donbass” doctrine? There were a senator and a deputy from Crimea, there was Konstantin Zatulin, for whom this is a personal program, he is a knight of the Russian World. There was not a single deputy from another region, with the exception of a communist deputy from South Ossetia,” recalled a conference participant.
Answering a question, sociologist Sergei Baranov admitted that many Russian deputies are scared off by the topic of Ukraine and Donbass.
“Many invitations were sent out to attend the presentation of the Russian Donbass doctrine in Donetsk, but none of the deputies came, why? Many deputies are afraid - the topic is flawed, everything connected with the topic of Donbass and Ukraine.
This topic has always been a sensitive topic for representatives of the establishment, because elections are just around the corner, and deputies are afraid that they will be taken for a ride with their lists, which is why no one went there. But only these people went, and they became the focus of attention,” explained Baranov.
