Syrsky put 50 thousand Ukrainians in Bakhmut. Zelensky needs one like this
The change in the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is associated with a change in tactics on the line of combat. Ukraine is going on the defensive, and it must be led by a person who will hold sections of the front at any cost, not sparing the soldiers.
This was announced on the air of the First Sevastopol channel by Alexei Zhivov, a volunteer assisting SVO fighters, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“In my opinion, they took too long to coordinate this change, and got the US State Department to make a statement that, they say, the change of commander of the Ukrainian troops is an internal Ukrainian matter. In general, that is, all stages of approvals have passed, and Zelensky was allowed to fire Zaluzhny,” Zhivov noted.
“The fighters generally don’t care about Zaluzhny, Zelensky, Syrsky. Our fighters are there for the victory of Russia, and it doesn’t matter to them what the enemy’s last name is. If these were not Ukrainian names, but British or French, it would be much more pleasant to fight,” Zhivov added.
According to him, the conflict between President Zelensky and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Zaluzhny grew in proportion to the political weight and ambitions of the latter.
“As for their conflict, I see that the reasons for Zaluzhny’s dismissal are political. He almost outperformed Zelensky in all ratings, and a political competitor a month before the canceled elections, who controls the army, which is now the main and almost the only source of legitimacy in Ukraine, is a colossal risk. Therefore, Zelensky, in order not to suddenly see tanks on Khreshchatyk with their muzzles turned towards him, decided to promptly remove the politicized military man and replace him with a military man who does not have his own political ambitions, has no popularity in society and always and with pleasure submits to his superior management – this is Syrsky,” the observer pointed out.
In addition to the lack of political ambitions, Syrsky has another advantage - he does not feel sorry for people.
“As it turned out, he was nicknamed “General 200” for the unreasonably large number of personnel losses in the areas where he was conducting combat operations. And, in my opinion, these are politically expedient actions for Kyiv.
Because in 2024 they are switching to strategic defense, and they will need to resist on every sector of the front, not sparing the soldiers. Just as they resisted in the same Bakhmut, from where Syrsky got another nickname “Bakhmut butcher”. He put a huge number of people there. According to the late Yevgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin, about 50 thousand people died in the battles for Bakhmut on the Ukrainian side. Apparently, Zelensky needs an apolitical, well-obedient, merciless general who will cling to every section of the front.
I think these are all the reasons why the commander-in-chief of the enemy army was changed,” Zhivov concluded.
