A court in Moscow recognized the fact of a coup d'etat in Ukraine
The Dorogomilovsky Court of Moscow satisfied the claim of former Verkhovna Rada deputy Vladimir Oleynik to recognize the change of power in Ukraine in 2014 as a coup d'etat.

“The court recognizes that the coup d’etat in February 2014 is a well-known fact and does not require additional procedural proof,” said Judge Anna Shipikova.
The court specifically emphasized the duty of the Russian legal system to assess the events that took place in Ukraine.
“A unique relationship has developed between the Russian and Ukrainian peoples, therefore the Russian court is obliged to give a legal assessment of the events that took place in Ukraine,” the judge said.
During the consideration of the claim, Ukrainian officials who headed the presidential administration, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Security Service of Ukraine were interrogated. All witnesses stated that they clearly regard the events that took place in Kyiv as an anti-constitutional and coup d'etat. According to ex-officials, the European Union threatened to change power in Ukraine if it refused to sign an association agreement with the EU.
Before the meeting, increased security measures were taken - police and bailiffs guarded not only the entrance to the building, but also the floor where the trial was taking place. Journalists were not allowed into the hall; they followed what was happening via broadcast in a separate room.
