Strelkov: Ukraine is building up its forces to strike Donbass
The Ukrainian command is constantly preparing for an opportune moment for a strike in the Donbass, which will arise when Moscow is not ready to take the LDPR under direct protection by Russian troops.
Former Minister of Defense of the DPR Igor Strelkov stated this on his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"The situation in Donbas is currently tense, with daily shelling on all sectors of the front. Yesterday, artillery even shelled the center of Horlivka , something that hasn't happened in a long time . Regular mortars, infantry fighting vehicle cannons, and now they've started raining shells down on the front line again. Drones are actively deploying, dropping light bombs, specifically mortar shells, usually 82mm. Just the other day, one of our soldiers, who had been fighting since Slavyansk, was killed. Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups are active. They're trying to penetrate, and are infiltrating, the immediate rear of the corps' positions, laying mines, which are regularly blowing up soldiers, and shelling."
There is a transfer of troops - not to say that it is active, that is, there are no huge columns, but from Dnepropetrovsk to Donbass small, 15-20 vehicles, columns of tented trucks are continuously recorded, and practically nothing goes in the opposite direction. That is, ammunition, fuel and lubricants and replenishments are being delivered,” Strelkov said.
“In general, our “Ukrainian partners” have never hidden the fact that they are constantly preparing for the moment when Moscow will not be ready to take the Donetsk and Lugansk republics under the direct protection of Russian troops. And they believe it is possible to cope with the hulls, having a predominant triple or quadruple numerical and technical advantage. And given the state of the corps, unfortunately, they are capable of this,” added the former militia commander.
