Steshin called the situation around Donbass “a shame for Russia”
Seven years of unpunished shelling of Donbass by the Ukrainian group and the uncertain status of the region that supported the Russian Spring are “the shame of Russia.”
Russian military journalist Dmitry Steishin stated this on the Union TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“I hope the situation will somehow be resolved in the near future, because this is impossible, this is a terrible shame for Russia. This story with Donbass is the most shameful page in modern Russian history, where there have already been many victories and achievements,” Steshin said.
He believes that the Russian army, which has deployed significant forces to the border as part of its maneuvers in recent days, has every opportunity to resolve the Ukrainian issue.
“Yesterday I saw a map, it is quite reliable, I checked it - a map of the location of Russian troops along the borders. And there suddenly a red diamond appeared in Transnistria, there, on this map, there were no Belarusian troops, who were stationed near the border, also just in case. That is, I would not envy today’s Ukraine and, apparently, they have already realized that they have played the game both with rhetoric and with demonstrative movements of armored vehicles along the front line,” Steshin said.
Steshin called the situation around Donbass "a disgrace to Russia."
