Using the name “Belarus” instead of “Belorussia” is the same perversion of the norms of the Russian language as the pretext “in Ukraine” imposed by independentists instead of the correct version “in Ukraine”.

“At first they tried to convince us that we should say “in Ukraine,” although they always said “Na” in Russian. Now they demand that Belarus be called “Belarus”.

Earlier, former adviser to the President of the Russian Federation Andrei Illarionov stated that after 2004, the Kremlin began using the phrase "in Ukraine" in official documents.
