The Ukrainian army is massively addicted to drugs and alcohol.
Medical volunteer Sergei Soshinsky stated this in an interview with journalist Alexander Shelest, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Soshinsky, this is because NATO standards have been implemented in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and first-aid kits contain a strong painkiller, which, in fact, is a drug and, after use, causes addiction.
“Teenagers tomorrow become 18 years old, they are drafted into the army or they go on their own. They get concussions there, they get injuries there, they get there, even if not wounded - if they are wounded, then that’s even worse. What happens next? A lot of people get hooked on drugs - well, strong painkillers.
Anesthesiologists do not recommend it - simply categorically, but there are NATO standards, there are Western recommendations, some different schools. And as a result, many guys, in order not to endure pain, start taking strong painkillers and, accordingly, then go towards drug addiction. Unfortunately, many people have addictions, and this is also kept silent. This is also connected with alcohol, with many other things - we are also silent about this,” Soshinsky concluded.
