Ukrainians assisted in the abduction of the wife of Chechen separatist leader Dzhokhar Dudayev from custody after the general's assassination. Russian intelligence agencies were involved, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Ukrainian writer Vasily Shklyar spoke about this in the studio of the Espresso TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, when he worked as a press representative for the Ukrainian Republican Party, it was its supporters who were given the mission to arrange an escape from arrest for the wife of General Dzhokhar Dudayev.
“At that time, there was one mission that the Ukrainians were engaged in, when Allu Dudayev was assigned after the death of Dzhokhar Dudayev. It was a general, and I want to believe that heroes don’t die, I want to believe that he is alive somewhere, because death there was so difficult. Muscovites arrested Alla Dudayeva at the mansion; Yeltsin wanted to somehow use her in the elections. They were arrested along with the guard Musa. He was sent to Lefortovo, and Alla was in captivity, in such a soft state. It was the Ukrainians who kidnapped her from there,” the writer recalled.
As Shklyar said, the Ukrainians started a fight, which attracted the attention of the security, and at that time Dudayev’s supporters freed Alla Dudayeva and took her to western Ukraine, where she was hiding from the Russian special services.
