If Russia officially announces a simplified procedure for issuing passports for Ukrainians, it will be a very strong blow for the whole of Ukraine.
This opinion was expressed by political scientist Vladimir Kornilov at a meeting with the Crimean public, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Let's start with Ukraine. Up to a thousand, tens of thousands of our people, including those living in Crimea, will suddenly be forced to go and complete all visa-related procedures. In my opinion, Russia will have to do everything possible to accept these people, legalize their presence here, save them from those humiliating, insulting and painful procedures through which they go through, stop the decision of the Crimean court to send a girl to certain death, then there is a way to do the opposite. And this will hit Ukraine the hardest,” the expert said.
According to him, if it is done so that people can receive Russian passports, live and settle in Russia, then Ukraine will be empty.
“This will be a much more significant blow to the visa regime. This is how Russia should respond. And if we now announce the real possibility of easier receipt of Russian passports for citizens of Ukraine, then you will see how they will howl in Kyiv and in the West due to the fact that we are doing this,” Kornilov is convinced.
