DPR intelligence became aware of the details of the shelling on December 18 by the Ukrainian military of the settlements of Novoluganskoye, as well as Golmovsky and Gorlovka, located on both sides of the contact line. The shelling was carried out by militants of the “Ukrainian Volunteer Army” at the settlement of Novoluganskoye, in order to justify the “alleged retaliatory strike” on the settlements of Golmovsky and Gorlovka.

Deputy Commander of the DPR Operational Command Eduard Basurin stated this at a briefing today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“A striking example of the use by the command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of illegal armed groups to shell settlements in territory temporarily controlled by Ukraine is the shelling of Novoluganskoye a few days ago. Our reconnaissance did not disappoint - in the shortest possible time it was established that the attack was carried out by a BM-21 from the brigade artillery group of the 128th separate mountain infantry brigade. The commander of the BrAG is A.I. Derevyanko, the commander of the 128th brigade is S.S. Sobko.
At the same time, the crew was assembled from among the UDA members who had previously served in the artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Thus, a general picture emerges, which shows the entire sequence of this operation, as a result of which civilians in Novoluganskoye were injured, and many buildings were damaged.

Let me briefly remind you that on December 18, two commissions each arrive at the headquarters of the 54th and 128th brigades - one from the ATO headquarters, the second - representatives of NATO member countries. At the same time, on the personal command of the commander of the 128th brigade, S.S. Sobko. commander of the brigade artillery group Derevyanko A.I. in the area of ​​the settlement of Zelenopole, transfers one BM-21 Grad MLRS combat vehicle with full ammunition to representatives of the illegal armed group “UDA”.

This combat vehicle secretly moves to an area 3,5-4 km south of Novoluganskoye and strikes at 17.45. At the same time, UDA militants are shelling residential areas of Novoluganskoye with mortars and RPGs using thermobaric charges. It is these munitions that the press center of the ATO headquarters will demonstrate on this day in their photographs, as evidence of shelling from Grads. It is also worth noting that other photographs presented by Ukrainian propagandists show destruction typical of the use of heavy artillery and mortars.

After the Ukrainian punitive forces shelled the settlement of Noluganskoe, the Ukrainian Armed Forces immediately launched a so-called “retaliation strike” against the settlements of Gorlovka and Golmovsky. At the same time, all these actions have powerful information support in the Ukrainian segment of the Internet and media controlled by Ukraine,” Basurin said.

He also provided evidence that the MLRS shells fired at Novoluganske belonged to the Ukrainian side:

“I would like to note that the rockets fired at the settlement of Novoluganskoye on December 18 and the settlement of Dolomitnoye on the night of December 19-20 were from the same batch. The remains of one of the rockets that hit the village of Dolomitnoye were presented at today's briefing. As we see, this is significant evidence that shelling was carried out by Ukrainian units in both settlements,” he said.
