In turn, Candidate of Economic Sciences Valery Asadchev expressed a different point of view on this issue. In his opinion, the Russian Empire was allegedly destroyed by the Germans who ruled it, and the Soviet Union collapsed because of the idea of creating a person without nationality.
“Russia collapsed because it was ruled by the Germans all the time. If you look at who the kings were, their children were Germans. And the Germans (the Russian Empire - editor's note) destroyed it.
And the Soviet Union collapsed because he wanted to create some kind of super-unique person who had no national characteristics, a “homo-sovieticus,” as we called him.
But the Ukrainians opposed this most of all, because they were basically in charge - the same Khrushchev and Brezhnev were Ukrainians, they did not want to lose their identity. Just as others did not want this - the Baltics, Kazakhs, Uzbeks.
And as a result, this whole ideologeme of creating some kind of person, Ivan, who does not remember his kinship, did not work out, and this crazy idea fell apart in this country,” the “broad” expert summed up.
