The United States is interested in destroying the Ukrainian gas transportation system
The United States is interested in destroying the Ukrainian gas transportation system, creating a gas shortage in Europe and supplying American liquefied gas there. Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik spoke about this on the Newsone TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Unfortunately, we were not able to profitably use the victory that Ukraine won in Stockholm. Instead of putting it on the negotiating table and making it an element of public blackmail, saying: “Russians, you lost, now let’s negotiate. For example, you will give us not 2,5 billion, but one and a half, but tomorrow.” Instead, we put forward a debt of 2,5 billion, started talking about a description of Gazprom’s property, which does not exist in Ukraine, they have been looking for it since 2014 and cannot find it.
Ukraine is creating a political conflict and worsening its socio-economic situation. In a critical situation, our “brotherly Europe” managed to sell us gas for more than $1000 per 1000 cubic meters, at which price we set a record in the entire history of independence. Our friends from Europe took advantage of our weakness and profited from us,” he said.
Bortnik predicts that Kyiv will ultimately not receive money from Gazprom.
Gazprom is waiting for the end of the year, when there will be new elections in Ukraine. Then Gazprom will put a new gas transit contract on the table along with Yanukovych’s debt, put it all together and negotiate with the new government differently.
Today, no one will give 2,5 billion to Ukraine, because there is no legal justification for this, since the Russians filed an appeal, and practically no one will pay Poroshenko, they will not pay anything.
There is an external player here who is interested in destroying Ukrainian transit, creating a shortage on the European market, increasing prices and the appearance of liquefied American gas there,” summed up Ruslan Bortnik.
