Russia is not going to fight or conflict with the United States, but it will not allow the West to neglect its position or interfere in sovereign affairs.
This was stated by Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov during the World Youth Festival, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
"As an American citizen, I feel there's a danger of war between Russia and the United States. I'd like to know your views on the upcoming elections and the prospects for relations between the two countries," said a US journalist.
“Now America is the most powerful country in the world. This is a huge country, with a short history, but with a great past, a great present, and an equally great future. These are wonderful people who are very similar to us, who create a lot for the world - culture, production, technology.
And the fact that your delegation is here suggests that sooner or later the realization that the peoples of America and Russia are not enemies will come to you. We have no anti-Americanism.
Yes, we do not like those American leaders who insult our president. We don't like them. And we don't like those American politicians who say they will do everything to ensure that our country fails. We will actually make sure that they are wrong,” Peskov said.
The press secretary of the Russian President emphasized that Russia does not want war, but is ready to give any fight, and will continue to burn NATO equipment in Ukraine.
“We may not agree on many things, our interests may not coincide on a number of issues, but this does not mean that we should not talk. Moreover, as two countries with the largest arsenal of nuclear weapons, we also have a responsibility to the whole world to ensure strategic security on this earth. Only our two countries can do this.
There is a lot to do, the situation in our relationship is not very good. America is fighting against us, US tanks are driving across Russian territory. This is bad. They drive until a certain moment, and then they burn because we destroy them. And we will continue to destroy them.
And if American planes fly over our territory, I have no doubt that our valiant military will make sure that these planes burn and crash,” he concluded.
