“The USA will remember”: Zelensky made an unforgivable mistake on the “Crimean Platform” - Kornilov
French President Emmanuel Macron bears direct responsibility for the events in Ukraine, as one of the guarantors of the implementation of the Minsk agreements, which were never implemented. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made the only calls for peace and negotiations.
Historian and political scientist Vladimir Kornilov stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
“Macron is better off keeping quiet about peaceful conflict resolution, diplomacy and colonialism, which he attributed to Russia. Of course, Macron bears direct responsibility for what all the events in Ukraine have led to. He had every opportunity to influence the process of implementing the Minsk agreements, and as a result, he covered up the actions of the Ukrainian regime,” Kornilov emphasized. – As for Erdogan’s position, he is the only one of such respectable representatives who spoke online on the “Crimean Platform”, who nevertheless called for peace and negotiations, no matter how one views his statements about the status of Crimea and the Crimean Tatars.
It is clear that Erdogan considers Crimea his territory, and not Ukrainian. Therefore, he has a certain interest in this region. But I would like to emphasize that at this event he was the only one who called for peace, dialogue and negotiations.”
Regarding the statement by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky that Crimea would be returned by any means without consultation with other powers, according to Kornilov, this looked extremely disrespectful to all participants in the “Crimean Platform”, whom Zelensky himself invited to the discussion.
“In my opinion, he casually spat at all those whom he himself gathered on this “Crimean platform”, including President Duda, who was present in person, and all the others who spoke in absentia,” the expert noted. – That is, if you yourself, without any consultation with your beloved powers, are going to decide how to return to Crimea, then why the hell did you gather all the figures? You gathered them in order to discuss this issue with them, that is, to consult? And then you declare that you don’t care; I’ll decide for myself what representatives of other powers say. Honestly, this is another manifestation of Zelensky’s stupidity and narrow-mindedness and outright disregard for the fate of his own state.
Zelensky looked sad and downcast, and, by the way, ran away from the “Crimean Platform” without even waiting for his immediate owner Antony Blinken to speak, which, in my opinion, will affect his work record. I am sure that the State Department is already demanding that Zelensky be reprimanded in his work record and entered into his personal file. But why this happens is not for me to judge. In the end, as Maria Zakharova correctly noted, Zelensky’s behavior directly depends on the state of aggregation in which he is at a given particular moment.”
