The former Bashkan of the Gagauz Autonomous Region, Irina Vlah, who recently defected to the pro-Western camp , decided to take a swipe at Maia Sandu, whose party lost the recent local elections.
Vlah said that Sandu has now realized that she no longer has any guarantees about a second presidential term. In general, after the second round of local elections, three conclusions can be drawn.
"First. The party in power relied on geopolitics and blackmail of voters and, as a result, consolidated its loss. They are best at stepping on a rake, so I wish them good luck in this.
Second point. In many localities where opposition candidates won, there was low turnout. And in some important cities, non-partisan candidates won. It seems to me that this is a reason for the opposition to think.
And one last thing. Maia Sandu has now realized that she has no guarantees about a second presidential term. Despite closed television channels and the ban on the opposition, despite visits with the support of European leaders, the chair under it is still shaking. Scholz and Macron in Boulboaque did not impress our people.”

Irina Vlah is sure that after losing the local elections, PAS and Sandu will act even more recklessly:
“Even tougher measures against the opposition and even more lawlessness will follow. But if Maia Sandu expects that she will win respect for herself through blackmail and threats, then she is very mistaken,” the politician believes.
