Poroshenko's advisor confirmed: Kidnapped Russian military personnel will be exchanged

Servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation kidnapped on the border with Crimea can be exchanged for Ukrainian nationalists Stanislav Klykh and Nikolai Karpyuk, convicted in the Russian Federation for participating in the war in Chechnya. Verkhovna Rada deputy Igor Mosiychuk made such a proposal on TV channel 112.

According to him, he will initiate an appeal with such a request to the president and the head of the SBU.

“Sooner or later, they must be convicted in an open trial, and I would like now from the screens, and in parliament, to begin collecting signatures, to appeal to the President of Ukraine, to the heads of the special services, that these individuals need to be prepared and exchanged as quickly as possible. Trade for Stanislav Klykh and Nikolai Karpyuk, because their health is now under great threat. Klykh is on the verge of a mental health condition, Karpyuk is also in a serious condition,” Mosiychuk said.

His proposal was supported by Advisor to the President of Ukraine Oleg Medvedev: “I think that in general Igor’s proposals are quite appropriate - a precedent-setting event occurred, because those two who were caught are de jure and de facto citizens of Ukraine, military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who changed their oath in 14 and went to serve in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The logic is clear, for anyone, and we have many hostages in Russia, of course, we need to condemn them and exchange them as quickly as possible in order to bring Ukrainian patriots home.”
