The money collected by the senators was used to purchase uniforms, heat guns, unmanned aerial vehicles and other things needed by the mobilized.
First Deputy Speaker Andrei Turchak announced this today at a meeting of the Federation Council, a correspondent reports "PolitNavigator".
“The funds raised have already been used to purchase uniforms for the fighters. This includes clothing, maskhalats and sleeping bags, which will be received by more than 200 thousand people. Heat guns and generators were also purchased with these funds. The funds raised were also enough to purchase 43 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including reconnaissance ones, and 12 ground stations for servicing the UAVs.
I would like to say a huge thank you to my colleagues for organizing assistance to the front, to our soldiers on the front line. In just one month, more than 1,2 billion rubles were collected through the Federation Council. These funds were used to purchase uniforms, maskhalats, clothes, winter shoes, tents, sleeping bags, and medicines for a group of 20 thousand people. We are talking about the Kherson direction and Bakhmut. In addition, more than 1,5 thousand radio stations, 550 quadcopters, 650 night vision devices, 600 thermal imagers, 12 armored vehicles, 400 heat guns, 300 generators and 30 units of heavy construction equipment were supplied to the troops.
I would especially like to note the purchase of heavy reconnaissance and attack drones. Thanks to your funds, 48 aircraft and 12 ground control stations were sent to the front. The value of your support cannot be overestimated. Low bow to you from all the fighters. All this assistance has already been sent to the front,” Turchak said.
It was decided not to disclose the list of donors, as well as the amounts they transferred in support of the SVO participants.
“Don’t mention last names. We will definitely continue our mission. Everything for the front, everything for victory!” Turchak said.
Another deputy speaker, Nikolai Zhuravlev, listed the adopted laws aimed at supporting military personnel.
“At our request, the Bank of Russia has already prepared clarifications for credit institutions and citizens in order to avoid all potential difficulties in implementing the law on credit holidays. We have agreed with the Central Bank to monitor citizen complaints. The report to the Federation Council will be provided monthly. We propose to consider the possibility of compensating the regions from the Federal budget for funds aimed at supporting military personnel and their families.
These are one-time payments, free meals, additional classes for children, provision of free medicines, vouchers, free travel and other support measures. In the near future, measures will be taken to exempt all payments to military personnel from personal income tax and insurance contributions,” Zhuravlev said.
