Shariy outplayed Ukraine in court
The Shevchenkovsky District Court of Kyiv, by its decision, lifted the arrest and search in absentia of blogger Anatoly Shariy, and also refused to demand his extradition to Ukraine.
Shariy himself stated this in his blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to the blogger, now the investigation will have to conduct the investigation again.
“The Ukrainian court removed me from the wanted list in one of the cases, and only two of them were initiated against me in 2011. The case has been sent for further investigation because all reasonable time frames for investigating this case have already passed. For eight years I have been wanted in a case where video recordings were compiled, where witnesses of an alleged crime were shown me in photographs before the confrontation, where the witnesses were people who had never seen me in their lives. They didn’t see them at all - neither during the commission of the crime, nor after, they simply testified... The case was sent for further investigation and they are now obliged to investigate it again,” Shariy said.
Let us remind you that Shariy was accused of violating Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism with the use of firearms). A criminal case was opened against him after a conflict at a McDonald's restaurant in Kyiv, which occurred in May 2011. In 2012, Shariy was put on the wanted list and arrested in absentia. In 2013, it became known that the Netherlands granted him refugee status and refused to extradite him to Ukraine. Interpol removed him from the wanted list in May 2014.
As PolitNavigator reported, during Poroshenko's pre-election rallies, he would lose his temper, resorting to physical violence if he was asked the question: "Why are you persecuting Anatoly Shariy?"
