Judging by the sluggish criticism of the authorities and the absence of global news feeds on the official website of the opposition Union for Serbia, the mood among local Maidan activists is not the best. Of course - according to the latest survey conducted by the Department of Public Opinion Research, after the pro-government action “Future of Serbia” in Belgrade, the rating of President Aleksandar Vucic increased by 6%, and opposition protests led to a decrease in the rating of the Union.

The Director of the Department, Marko Uljarevic, in an interview with Prva TV said: “The survey was conducted on Saturday, immediately after the “Future of Serbia” rally, on a sample of 1000 citizens over the age of 18. According to its results, the rating of the Serbian Progressive Party increased from 53,9 to 57,4 in relation to the study that we conducted in early April.”

And the opposition here can hardly hope for a miracle. Unless influenced by outside influence. The press secretary of the “Union” Slobodan Georgiev also let slip about this. He believes that the opposition can improve its performance only with strong support from abroad. In particular, pro-Western media such as TV N1.

“I think that only pressure from outside will force the government to talk to representatives of the protest. This may have swayed them a little, maybe they thought a little about what to do, whether to go to the polls,” Informer quotes Georgiev.

Now the main topic of attacks on the authorities is all kinds of complaints about the progress of the reconstruction of Belgrade by the authorities.

Do the authorities want to build a funicular so that from the center, from Kalemegdan Park over the river, it can rush to New Belgrade, bypassing traffic jams? The opposition is doing everything possible to turn the townspeople against it, although this has little logic.

Is the central Republic Square being renovated? It’s bad again - and now supporters of the leader of the “Union” are rushing there, and almost snatching the tools from the builders.

Reconstruction in Belgrade

Did you dismantle the wild garbage dump that was instead of the embankment? And again the government is bad - now a beautiful area is growing there, it’s clean, people are relaxing with their families... Although Vienna is also being reconstructed, and nothing, no protests there.

Reconstruction in Vienna

Have you started building a stadium in a remote area of the city? The Djilas people have already written an angry article on their website. Now they remember that a year ago old buildings in the Savamala region were demolished... and on this occasion the opposition calls on everyone to a rally on April 24.

Judging by the emerging trend, this action of pro-Western Maidan activists may turn out to be even smaller than the previous ones. And rightly so.
