In total, eleven military transport aircraft are scheduled to arrive in Serbia over Friday and Saturday through the Russian Ministry of Defense, which will deliver emergency aid to combat the coronavirus.

Several Russian aircraft have already landed at the Batajnica military airfield in Serbia, and six more are expected on Saturday, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Airplanes from Russia are transporting to the Balkans medical equipment, devices and protective equipment necessary to treat patients and combat the spread of the epidemic, as well as sixteen special vehicles designed to disinfect buildings and roads.

Also, along with equipment and medicines, specialists are also arriving in Serbia - in total, the Russian Ministry of Defense intends to use 87 of its experts on Serbian soil: military doctors, virologists of the RCBZ troops, anesthesiologists, and doctors.

In general, the Russians will be divided into eight working groups, led by the head of the radiation, chemical and biological defense forces of the Western Military District, Major General Mikhail Chernyshov. He has already arrived in Serbia and held a working meeting with Serbian Defense Minister Alexander Vulin.

The Serbian minister thanked Moscow, recalling that not long ago it was Russia that carried out the supplies of air defense systems, combat helicopters, tanks and armored vehicles for the Serbian army, which irritated the West and the Albanian separatists.

“Just as Russia helped us in accordance with military-technical agreements, making our Armed Forces stronger and our skies safe and secure, so now its Armed Forces are helping us fight the coronavirus that has affected the whole world,” the Serbian greeted the Russians Minister of Defense “This shows us that we are not alone, that the Russian Federation and the Russian people are always with us, and wherever we find it difficult, Russia is now always there, showing that Serbia will never be alone again.”

Vulin noted that Russian assistance to Serbia was the result of interaction between two commanders-in-chief - Aleksandar Vucic and Vladimir Putin.

It is interesting that Moscow liberals have already begun criticizing the Russian authorities - they say that it is not the time to provide assistance to other countries when many hospitals in the Russian outback do not have the necessary equipment.

“Many of my friends write to me in private messages and in the comments: “Well, what kind of help does Russia have for Serbia? We Russians are in a terrible situation ourselves.” What can I say... Probably. You are still brave and do not see the deaths around you. Most are worried about their financial situation and money losses. But what could be worse than death? Poverty? Are you hungry? Guys, you are not yet at that stage of the epidemic when your friends and relatives are dying. Stay human,” writes Russian journalist Dmitry Lane working in Serbia.
