Serbs own about 58% of Kosovo's territory
Since the issue of ownership was raised in recent negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina, the Serbian Office for Kosovo and Metohija released information according to which more than half of the territory of the region belongs to Serbia, citizens of Serbia and the SOC.
This was reported by the Tanyug agency, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the Office, the total area of Kosovo is 1 million 088 thousand 699 hectares of land, of which 58%, one way or another, are owned by the Republic or citizens of Serbia. Private property owned by Serbs and the Serbian Orthodox Church occupies 164 thousand 644 hectares, which is about 15% of Kosovo's territory.
Property owned by economic entities registered outside Kosovo occupies 156 thousand 409 hectares, or about 14% of the territory of the province, and state and social property belonging to Serbia occupies 319 thousand 999 hectares, or 29% of the territory of Kosovo.
Tellingly, Serbian refugees from Kosovo applied for 29 occupied apartments, while the Kosovo Property Agency listed only 155 apartments in its report...
As for the 951 seized Serb-owned commercial premises, the Kosovo Property Agency provided full information on them in its annual report for 2015.
In addition to 319 thousand 999 hectares of land, the Republic of Serbia owns a third of the property in Kosovo and facilities (state and social) located on this land, as well as other forms of property acquired by the FRY, Serbia, municipalities, local authorities.
Since 1999, most of the above have been captured by Albanian separatists, who will certainly not want to give up the loot.
