The events surrounding Mikheil Saakashvili destroyed respect for the Ukrainian state. Political scientist Alexey Martynov stated this on the Vesti FM radio station.

“This destroys the last sacredness of the Ukrainian state. She's gone. A person without a passport organizes such a festival, and no one can do anything about him. He sang the anthems of Georgia and Ukraine a cappella in court, and he was released,” Martynov said.
He doubts that, having used Saakashvili as a battering ram, those who ordered it will leave him in the orbit of Ukrainian politics, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Most likely, he will complete this task and move on. Who will take over this power? Tymoshenko expresses certain ambitions. She is head and shoulders above many current politicians. This is not the worst option for Ukraine. But under the conditions of festival politics, which has been practiced in Ukraine for the last 20 years, fascist thugs can come to power. We don’t yet know the name of the Ukrainian Hitler,” Martynov said.
