Saakashvili announced his return to Kyiv on April Fool's Day
Fugitive former Georgian President and former head of the Odessa region, Mikheil Saakashvili, intends to return to Kyiv as early as April 1 of this year. He announced this on the Nash TV channel, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Saakashvili, who is banned from entering Ukraine until 2022, believes that the current president of the country, Petro Poroshenko, will lose in the first round of elections, and from April 1, the security forces will refuse to obey him.
“I have an e-ticket for Polish Airlines for April 1 this year. I am flying where I was taken from Kyiv to Warsaw, from Warsaw I am flying to Kyiv. 14:05 On April 1, 19, I am going to land in Boryspil.
I took this ticket because I am sure that Poroshenko will not make it to the second round. As soon as he doesn’t make it to the second round, I’m more than sure that not a single border guard will want to carry out his order not to let me into Ukraine.
Just like many other orders will not be carried out. I believe in the future of Ukraine and dream that it can come without Poroshenko,” Saakashvili said.
As PolitNavigator reported , on July 26 of last year, Poroshenko signed a decree revoking Saakashvili's citizenship.
Saakashvili announced his return to Kyiv for April Fools' Day.
