With and without elections: Zelensky in a hopeless trap – Ukrainian expert
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has fallen into a trap - he cannot hold elections because he was prohibited from doing so, at the same time, his term will soon end and he will become illegitimate.
Political strategist Sergei Gaidai stated this on Radio NV, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Gaidai, Zelensky would have a chance of re-election if he led the country to victory.
“Today the Office fell into a trap. The trap began at the end of last year, when we were told that we did not need elections, they were impossible and they would not happen. And if you take away from society and even convince them, because the majority of Ukrainians also think so, convince them that you don’t need to change now, then the only way out is victory.
Okay, we won’t re-elect you for another year or two, but ensure our victory. And now we understand that the war is dragging on, we see the big mistakes that our government is making, the inability to solve the most important issues of our survival, and the Verkhovna Rada, its time has passed, even though it is legitimate according to the Constitution, there is no real legitimacy, but, The Constitution does not give the president the opportunity to preserve himself after his term has passed.
And he loses both constitutional and real legitimacy with every step. It will be difficult to be re-elected again when there is no victory and the war drags on. Therefore, now we are in a typical political crisis, our military-political leadership does not have the opportunity to change any course, and citizens do not have the opportunity to legitimately change it,” Gaidai concluded.
