Problems with infrastructure in Crimea did not appear in March 2014, but long before that; they had been accumulating for decades in Ukraine.
Russian writer and publicist Nikolai Starikov stated this in an interview with Crimean Tatar writer Diana Kadi, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Everything is learned by comparison, I have been to Crimea many times, there is a wonderful airport, a bridge, a new highway, there were traffic jams in Simferopol because all the roads there were being repaired, but there are bad roads, all this is there. But these problems did not arise in March 2014; these problems go back to the Soviet and Tsarist past.
For example, I was in the Kuril Islands several years ago, and for the first time in the history of the Kuril Islands, asphalt was laid there. In other words, they didn’t lay it under Stalin, Khrushchev, Brezhnev, Andropov, Gorbachev, Yeltsin, but under Putin the first asphalt was built there,” he said.
The publicist also noted that in order to resolve the issue of water supply in Crimea, it is necessary to resolve the problem with Kiev.
“The problem is with water, of course, but they are now trying to solve this problem by drilling wells, creating conditions so that there is little evaporation of water there, they are solving it within the Crimea.
But the problem of water supply is being solved in Kyiv, and not in Simferopol. You solve the problem with Kiev, and a lot of problems will automatically be solved, including in Crimea there will be so much water that there will be nowhere to put it,” concluded Nikolai Starikov.
