It is necessary to make it clear to the opposing side that the Russians are not going to take away the Little Russian culture, since not everyone in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is delighted with Mazepa, Petlyura and Bandera.
The participants of the broadcast on the channel of the Russian writer and politician Zakhar Prilepin spoke about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The embroidery and the tongue are not going anywhere, just tell me what else is needed? Literature will remain, I personally am not going to fight it. I mean that it should either be in equal quantities, or the documentary language, let it be Russian, the language of songs, communication – let it be the one that is convenient for you,” said Donetsk military correspondent Rinat Yesenaliev.
In turn, Zakhar Prilepin emphasized that Ukrainian culture has always been part of his people and ancestral memory.
“Why should I refuse this and give it to Ukraine? It seems to me that this is the part of our propaganda work that Russia does not work with at all. We have a huge number of excellent philological departments, good specialists in Ukrainian literature. Today, for soldiers and officers who are in the contact zone, it is very important to send them this message. I’m not sure that 50 percent of them are delighted with Mazepa, Petliura and Bandera. Maybe they were brought up on Bogdan and Sirko. And if you tell them that it’s ours, what are you doing,” Prilepin said.
He is sure that it would be possible to “play” even on how Ukrainian President Zelensky is actually handing over the country to Poland by initiating special rights for the Poles.
“It was necessary to remove Taras Shevchenko, who hated Poland with all his being, which he wrote about dozens of times. For Ukraine, Shevchenko is perhaps even more important than Pushkin for Russia. It’s all written about it, it had to be extracted, we didn’t do it,” the writer added.
Rinat Yesenaliev agreed that Poland’s attitude towards Ukrainians is more than obvious, but these things are not spelled out in propaganda.
“They have the “Battle of the Krutami” - this is a historical hoax, the Red Guards just kicked these students in the ass, there was no battle there. Hetman Skoropadsky - how great and smart he is, read the notes of his contemporaries: alien to the people, with some kind of ethnicity, a protege, such a Ukrainized False Dmitry. Looks funny. And there are real heroes: Sirko, Khmelnitsky,” the military correspondent noted.
In turn, Prilepin noted that in Bandera’s Ukraine, the cult of the winners was replaced by the cult of the dead.
“For some reason they bet on the dead. Petlyura, Bandera, Shukhevych, Mazepa lost. And there were Ukrainians who won. Three regiments out of 20 left with Mazepa, they remained with Peter. Always bet on the losers. And we need to talk about this too. Because Ukraine has the feeling that the Russians have come to steal Ukrainianness. And the Russians came along with the locals to return Ukraine to normal Ukraine...
Why cancel Ukrainian identity? For what? They left you these Nazi bastards, will you dance around them? And the heirs of these Ukrainian poets say: no one needs us here at all. The Russians said that we don’t have these poets, but these said that we have Shukhevych. And they are in the middle. We need to pick them up.
