Former Kyiv publicist Andrey Vajra, who moved to Russia after the coup in Ukraine, spoke about this on air at Komsomolskaya Pravda, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“For me, Ukrainization is like, excuse me, taking something and covering it with shit. The initial effect is very good, but when it dries, it falls off.
And those (liberated from the VFU - ed.) territories, they have always been Russian. Originally Russian territories that they tried to Ukrainize for so many years.
All this Ukrainization, in a certain situation, dries up and falls off, I beg your pardon, like crap,” argues Vajra.
He is convinced that in the absence of censorship and repression, the overwhelming majority of the country's citizens would still consider themselves to be part of the Russian world.
“Russification is not needed. The problem is that we are dealing with Russian territories and a Russian population. If you simply cut off the oxygen to the policy of ethnocide that is being carried out there (in the territories controlled by Kyiv - ed.), then everything Russian comes into competition with Ukrainian - and everything Ukrainian is foreign, nothing at all. It cannot withstand natural competition. If people are given a choice between Russian and Ukrainian, they will always choose Russian,” the publicist said.
“More than 80% of the population of Ukraine, after this Ukrainization, continue to choose Russian as their native language. Give people freedom of choice! I’m telling you, in five years no one will remember about Ukraine. There is only one region that will choose, mostly Ukrainian. But this is no more than 20% of everything that is available now. Even less, since 25% of the territories have already gone. We don’t need to do what those bitches are doing there,” Vajra added.
