The announced voluntary evacuation from front-line settlements in the Zaporozhye region may be an element of luring the Ukrainian Armed Forces into hostilities.
Ukrainian military expert Yuriy Fedorov stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Fedorov, there is no point in expecting the Russian army to leave the Zaporozhye region following the example of Kherson.
“This is hardly a preparation for a gesture of goodwill - rather, it is some kind of game aimed, on the one hand, at somehow drawing the armed forces of Ukraine into an offensive either in those areas that are of particular importance to the Russians, which they are especially profitable, and prepare certain traps in these directions - this could happen,” the expert said.
“Perhaps this is a provocation, designed simply to ensure that the offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces takes place earlier than it is fully and 100% prepared... This may serve as a motive for the Russians to try to lure the Ukrainian armed forces into premature action.” , says Fedorov.
