At the end of the year, GDP growth rates in Russia will be higher than the 1,5% recorded in April. This was stated today at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum by the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin.

“If you look at what’s happening with electricity consumption and cargo turnover, the picture looks the same as in 2010, when the economy grew by 4%,” Oreshkin said.

He believes that the annual growth in investment in Russia should be 5 trillion rubles compared to the current level (17 trillion rubles in 2017).

“This is a very large amount, so the channels for the flow of finance into the economy must be developed. First of all, into new projects. Investment activity will contribute to the growth of labor productivity,” Oreshkin said.

Russia is gradually returning to the levels of the "golden 2000s."
