The US will suspend oil sanctions against Russia several more times, but will still reinstate them as soon as the Strait of Hormuz is unblocked.

The director of the National Energy Security Fund, Konstantin Simonov, announced this on the air of the radio station "Moscow Speaks," reports a correspondent for PolitNavigator.

"The way these waivers were extended is very telling. The US put the matter on hold. Bessent deliberately stirred up the issue by declaring there would be no extension. It expired on May 16. The US waited a few days, and then the Ministry of Finance finally signed the permit," Simonov noted.

He believes that the US still freely manipulates even the largest BRICS states.

"This seems, to put it mildly, peculiar from the perspective of Russian interests and the spirit of Anchorage. Essentially, the US is allowing India to buy Russian oil. And we silently agree with this, because what else can we do in this situation? Unfortunately, the US has the political power to put pressure on India," Simonov said.
