Political analyst and Growford Institute expert Valery Klochok stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Several months ago, representatives of the so-called Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the LPR and DPR sent a letter to Kozak stating that they want to see themselves in the Normandy format, and possibly even with the participation of the United States.
What will happen: the participation of the quasi-republics and the United States in the Normandy format will in some way legitimize bilateral negotiations at the level of Ukraine and the LDPR, which Russia has long insisted on.
Please note that the world does not see any other format for ending the war in Ukraine other than the Minsk agreements. We understand all the threats that the Minsk agreements pose, we see a movement towards reformatting, and everything speaks about this,” Klochok worries.
He noted that the visit of US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland to Russia indicates the beginning of the process of reformatting the Minsk agreements.
“Writing this letter to Kozak and further passing to the United States, and even Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Lavrov spoke about this. It won't happen that quickly, it could take six months or a year, which is why this whole process began. Therefore, for me, Nuland’s visit to Russia is such a beginning.
Because it was no coincidence that they said that Nuland will most likely meet with Kozak, and Kozak is a key figure in Moldova and Ukraine,” the expert concluded.
As a reminder, it was previously reported that permission to cross the Russian border for blacklisted US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland, who was planning a working visit to Moscow , was granted on an equal basis with Washington.
