“Russia applauds” – in Lvov they demand that Poland and Slovakia be severely punished
The restriction on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products demonstrates the lack of unity among the countries of the Western bloc and should be severely punished by Brussels and Washington.
Chairman of the KSE Center for Food and Land Use Research Oleg Nivevsky stated this on the First Western TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The studio complained that a number of EU countries unilaterally, without permission from Brussels, banned the import of Ukrainian agricultural products.
“We are witnessing a political scandal within the EU itself. This is the first precedent in the history of the EU when an individual country in the bloc decides for itself how to conduct its policy. It is not Brussels that should decide this. And here, each individual country, and almost simultaneously, decided to limit imports from Ukraine. This is a very strong blow to the unity of the EU,” the expert was indignant.
He emphasized that the lack of trans-Ukrainian unity in European countries should be severely punished.
“And if this has become possible in economic terms, then in security matters it is also possible. Russia sits and applauds because it sees that the EU is not united in its decisions.
And what did the European Commission do? Instead of punishing Poland, Slovakia and other countries for such actions, they simply waved their finger, said “Ay-ay-ay,” and that’s all. Moreover, they offered compensation rather than fines and restrictions. That is, they followed the lead of a separate country,” added Nivyevsky.
