Russian military correspondent: It’s time to revive field mail
Russia needs to revive the institution of field mail, similar to that which worked on the fronts during the Great Patriotic War.
Russian war correspondent Alexander Kots stated this on air at Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Kots, there is now a big problem with the delivery of letters and parcels to military personnel at the front.
“I don’t understand where we have such an institute as a field post office? During the Great Patriotic War, a person could drop his “triangle” at any end of the country, and he could be sure that this letter would reach the front and an answer would come from the front. Before the war we were the most reading country, and during the war we became the most writing country. 10,7 billion letters during the Great Patriotic War passed in both directions. I don’t understand where we have this field mail,” said the military correspondent.
“Relatives don’t know how to send a parcel with warm underpants, panties and socks. How can I send my parcel to a relative? St. Petersburg journalists conducted an experiment, sent a package to the front, it arrived for two months, after two months they simply lost traces of it. Whether it arrived or not, no one knows,” Kots said.
