The Russian ambassador accused Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Croatia of betrayal
Bulgaria, Macedonia and Montenegro betrayed Orthodox unity by banning Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s plane from flying over their territory.
Russian Ambassador to Serbia Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko announced this today on Vesti FM radio, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“This is a blow and betrayal of Orthodoxy not only by this blatant step. It started earlier. These are schisms, this is the unconditional submission of the Orthodox countries surrounding Serbia to the decisions of the Phanar (Patriarchate of Constantinople - ed.). And Phanar is dictated by Washington. This is a betrayal of Slavic unity, reason and one’s region. The West, through its actions, is causing a split and driving wedges,” the ambassador said.
According to him, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic took the neighbors’ demarche as an insult.
“Vučić is extremely annoyed (I am putting this mildly). He perceived this as a humiliation of himself and his people,” Botsan-Kharchenko said.
