Russian political scientist: The future of Ukraine has already been drawn in Moldova
The future of Ukraine is outlined in Moldova for many years to come - both in terms of aspirations to Europe, and in terms of internal conflicts based on similar regional specifics.
Russian political scientist Dmitry Kulikov stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In fact, in Moldova the situation is very model for Ukraine, everything started happening there earlier, including the 1992 war, Transnistria. The whole same story, it’s just a smaller country, the influence of Romania was much greater then, and then there was a very strong illusion - “how many of those who consider themselves to be part of the great Russian civilization in this Transnistria, we will crush!”
Have you forgotten how armed detachments and gangs from Moldova attacked Transnistria with the confidence that they would immediately crush it? It was 1992. How many years have passed, and Transnistria lives, yes, of course, people there have a hard time, but they live because they, just like my fellow countrymen in Donbass, refused not to be Russian.
What's interesting and revealing about this case is the letters Plahotniuc (an oligarch close to Poroshenko, the "master of Moldova" – Vadim Plahotniuc) wrote to Deputy Prime Minister Kozak . Dmitry Kozak published them. And then there it was: the Russian course suddenly appeared, and pay attention: Plahotniuc, it turns out, has always been in favor of federalizing Moldova. What a surprising revelation, right?
But instead of watching this, they (Zelensky and his comrades – ed.) are running around in fountains and doing all sorts of other nonsense during this election campaign. Although in Moldova, Ukraine's future is as clear as day; the Association Agreement and visa-free travel are there for many years to come. So what? And Transnistria is Donbas, and there's Gagauzia there too. Moldova is smaller than Ukraine in both population and territory, but its regional specifics are the same, look at it," Kulikov stated.
“It is clear that if Kolomoisky now starts writing letters to our government like Plahotniuc wrote, he will go there too. But maybe those who are now planning to join official Ukrainian politics will stop discussing all this nonsense and instead discuss the real problems of Ukraine?” – added the political scientist.
