Republicans support aid to Ukraine - ex-senator
It is a mistake to believe that Republicans in the United States do not want to support Ukraine - they only want to see the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ victorious plan and be sure that the money they are allocating is not in vain.
Former US Senator from Ohio Rob Portman stated this on the air of the Pryamoy TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“In the Republican corps - both in the Senate and in the House of Representatives - the majority is in favor of continuing assistance to Ukraine. Yes, this is to a certain extent related to the issue of our borders. This is precisely the question that is very difficult to resolve. But there is no need to make the wrong conclusion that American congressmen do not want to help Ukraine - people understand what the situation is, and this situation, the lack of assistance to Ukraine, will have long-term consequences for America, for our national security...
But everyone wants to see a plan, they want to see a way forward. And they want to be sure that the money they spend is well spent. It is important for us to have a plan, to understand that providing this or that assistance is the path to victory,” Portman said.
