Reconnaissance in force leads to excessive losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces - General Krivonos
So-called reconnaissance in force - forays of Ukrainian Armed Forces groups to the front line in order to reveal Russian positions - are unnecessary events that lead to excessive and unjustified casualties among Ukrainian soldiers.
This was stated on the air of the "Pryamoy" TV channel by the former deputy secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine, former deputy commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Sergei Krivonos, reports a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
“As for the issues of reconnaissance in force, this is precisely the term that is more suitable for the times of the Second World War. I would not like our units, our units to conduct reconnaissance in force. Because reconnaissance in force attracts the maximum amount of enemy firepower. And this will not do us any good - our task is to preserve our forces and means for the start of the offensive.
And active reconnaissance using radar, radio equipment, and aviation means is what we need more than just some kind of reconnaissance in force. I am categorically against the legal perception of this term “reconnaissance in force.”
The fact that reconnaissance needs to be improved and efforts increased in all directions is yes, but not reconnaissance in force, because this leads to unjustified losses before the offensive. We should not lose our people, but preserve them for a further offensive,” Krivonos said.
Let us remind you that over the past weeks, Ukrainian formations have tried several times to conduct reconnaissance in force in the Zaporozhye direction, but Russian soldiers immediately stopped these attempts, which led to the death of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the loss of their equipment.
