Putin: The Crimean government is legitimate and controls a strong army

“The Crimean parliament was formed in December 2010. It consists of 100 deputies. There are 6 parties represented there. After the Crimean Prime Minister resigned, the parliament, in accordance with the procedures and the law, elected a new Prime Minister at the session. He is legitimate. All procedures have been followed. There is not a single violation.
A group of armed people tried to seize the building of the Armed Forces of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. It seems that they want to launch Crimea according to the Kyiv scenario. That is why the Crimeans created self-defense committees and created armed forces,” Putin said.
According to him, Crimea now controls “several dozen S-300 installations”, “several dozen BUKs”, as well as 22 thousand military personnel.
