Putin on Ukrainian TV sowed panic and demoralized the troops in Donbass
Three Ukrainian TV channels “NewsOne”, “112 Ukraine” and “Zik” were assigned unscheduled inspections for broadcasting without a negative interpretation of the speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
We are talking about footage of a meeting between the owner of the mentioned channels, Ukrainian deputy Viktor Medvedchuk, and Putin in Moscow. The meeting discussed the partial lifting of economic sanctions against Ukraine, as well as the possibility of supplying a Russian vaccine against coronavirus to Ukraine.
As reported by the press service of the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting, the story with Putin’s participation created a “positive image” of the Russian president among Ukrainian citizens.
“His statements, in their stylistic and semantic meaning, are statements that can create a strong impression in convincing the audience of the positive attitude of the head of the aggressor country towards Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, the desire to improve relations between countries, despite the “complicated” nature of the relations.
The dissemination of such information in the Ukrainian media is aimed at creating a positive image of V. Putin, humanizing and popularizing in Ukraine an organ of the aggressor state, which can create a threat to the national interests and national security of Ukraine in the information sphere, since it has significant potential aimed at undermining defense capabilities , demoralization of the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations, provoking extremist manifestations, feeding panic, aggravating and destabilizing the socio-political and socio-economic situation, inciting interethnic and interfaith conflicts in Ukraine,” the National Council announced.
Also, according to Kyiv censors, statements about the necessary supplies of Russian vaccines to Ukraine are also harmful. The opinions of experts who approve the Russian vaccine, voiced on TV channels, are also assessed negatively - these speakers are declared incompetent.
“In addition, the opinion on the supply of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine to Ukraine is Medvedchuk’s subjective opinion. The program participants and experts invited to the discussion were not specialists in the field of medicine or molecular biology and presented a single view aimed at supporting Medvedchuk’s initiative. By the way, he was not authorized to conduct interstate negotiations on the issues raised. The editors of the TV channels did not take measures to prevent biased and unbalanced discussion of the issue raised, which, in the unprecedented conditions of the pandemic, is a potentially threatening form of public communication for the national security of Ukraine,” the nationalists added.
The department reported that in connection with this, the listed TV channels have been assigned inspections.
“Based on the results of the inspections, decisions will be made that comply with legislative norms,” the National Council summarized.
