Epiphany on Ukrainian TV: We need to normalize relations with the Russian Federation
Without resolving the conflict in Donbass and normalizing relations with Russia, the people of Ukraine may not even think about restoring prosperity and a prosperous economy.
Enrique Menendez, an activist with the public group Responsible Citizens and founder of the analytical center Institute of Regional Policy, stated this on the air of the Nash TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Residents of uncontrolled territories and those living in the conflict zone are suffering. But it seems to me that it is very important to convey to TV viewers and all residents of Ukraine that we are all suffering from an unfinished conflict. Because until the conflict in Donbass ends with the help of political and diplomatic agreements, there can be no talk of any growth in our economy,” he said.
In addition, the expert emphasized that without resolving the conflict in Donbass and normalizing relations with Russia, the Ukrainian crisis will worsen more and more.
"I think there simply hasn't been a politician adequate and sane enough to find the words to reach every Ukrainian. Until we end the conflict in Donbas, reclaim our uncontrolled territories, and normalize relations with Russia, our lives will continue to worsen year after year. Tariffs will rise , there will be fewer jobs, and fewer opportunities for our children's future. Peace in Donbas is key to the future development and prosperity of our country. I would like us to speak about this very clearly," Menendez concluded.
As a reminder, Kyiv previously announced that, contrary to European practice and the Ukrainian Constitution, Kyiv intends to raise tariffs this fall in order to solve its own problems at the expense of the people.
