Polish law enforcement agencies could not have been unaware of the planned provocation on May 9 , when a Russian diplomat was doused with fake blood. The authorities issued orders not to intervene.
The injured participant in the incident, the Russian Ambassador to Warsaw Sergei Andreev, stated this on air on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I have a very high opinion of the professionalism of the Polish security and public order services, and since these protests were clearly not prepared spontaneously, but over a long period of time, carefully, I do not think that this could have happened outside the purview of Polish law enforcement agencies. If they allowed it, there was an instruction not to interfere, or there was an instruction just the opposite.
Then it turned out that the police were there, only they were sitting in ambush while we were forced to turn around and head out, then they began, as the Minister of Internal Affairs later said, to ensure our safe departure,” Andreev said.
“What were you trying to achieve? Did you just want to scare? For what? The result was a complete compromise of the Polish authorities, exposed as people who do not understand, do not adhere to civilized norms, and the general impression is that this is simply a blow to the image of the country and the authorities,” added the Russian ambassador.
