The vice-rector of a Kyiv university embezzled 700 thousand hryvnia allocated for orphans and disabled students
Kyiv local prosecutor's office No. 9 reported suspicions to the vice-rector - chief accountant of one of the capital's universities regarding the misappropriation of funds from the capital's budget on an especially large scale.

This was reported by the press service of the Kiev prosecutor's office, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It was established that, while in this position, the attacker illegally entered inflated amounts into official documents for tuition fees for students from among disabled children, disabled children, orphans and children from low-income families. Subsequently, on the basis of these forged documents, over 700 thousand hryvnia were groundlessly transferred from the city budget to the accounts of one of the capital’s universities,” the report says.
Based on the results of the investigation, the chief accountant - vice-rector was informed of suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 366 (official forgery) and Part 5 of Art. 191 (appropriation of someone else’s property through abuse of official position on an especially large scale) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Currently, the suspect has been given a preventive measure in the form of bail in the amount of UAH 320 thousand. In addition, a petition to remove her from office is pending in court.
